Bengaluru : Swaramedha Music Festival, the 9th annual Swaramedha Sangeetsava, organized by Dr. Chinmaya Rao in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bengaluru, will be held this weekend, Saturday, at the BGS Indoor Auditorium on the main road of Uttarahalli Kengeri in Bengaluru.
Students of Swaramedha from across the state will showcase their talents in this event titled “Swaramedha Music Festival 2024-25”.
Three Hundred plus students from the Junior, Senior and Vidwath sections of the Swaramedha will perform Carnatic classical music concerts from 12 noon to 4 pm. 75 students of Swaramedha will write a new record by singing two Pancharatna Krithies, Thyagaraja’s Sadinchana and Endaro Mahanubhavu, simultaneously in unison.
The Assembly Sabhaa program to be held at 4 pm will be graced by the Managing Director of BGS Group of Educational Institutions and Sri Prakasanath Swamiji of the Kumbalagod branch of Sri Adichunchanagiri Kshetra.
90-year-old veteran Flute Player Vidwan B.G Srinivas from Bangalore will be felicitated with the “Swaramedha Sangeetha Ratna” award, popular Saxophone Player Vidwan Sridhar Sagar will be felicitated with the “Swaramedha Sangeetha Vibhushana” award, and renowned playback singer Sangeeta Vidwan Sri Sai Vignesh, who sang the famous song “Varaha Roopam” from the famous film “Kantara”, will be felicitated with the title “Swaramedha Sangeetha Shri”.
The chief guests will be Prof. Dr. Ramachandra Bhat Kotemane, founder of Channenahalli Veda Vijnana Gurukulam, Shri Hayagrivachar, trustee of Sri Rajarajeshwari Temple, Dr. C.N. Manjunath, Lok Sabha member of Bangalore Rural constituency, former Housing Minister and current popular senior MLA of Vijayanagara constituency, Shri M. Krishnappa, and popular MLA of Govindarajanagara, Shri Priyakrishna.
Social worker Pattangere Jayanna, Gosevak Mahendra Munnot, businessman Rajesh Babu, Anki Reddy, founder of Swaramedha Dr. Chinmaya M. Rao, chairman of Swaramedha, auditor C.A. Bharatha Rao KS and trustee of Swaramedha Sheela C. Rao will be present on the stage on this occasion.
Swaramedha founder Dr. Chinmaya M. Rao has invited all music lovers to come and take advantage of this program, which is being held with the aim of spreading Carnatic classical music widely, as it is free of charge.
Brief introduction of Swaramedha International Music Academy:
World record-holder young Music Director and Carnatic Classical Musician Dr. Chinmaya M. Rao founded Swaramedha International Music Academy in Honagodu near Anandapur in Sagar taluk in 2015 with the special concept of music for world peace. For the last nine years, Dr. Chinmaya Rao himself has been teaching music to thousands of students from India and abroad. As the Principal of the institution, he is handing over the heritage of Carnatic classical music, especially to the younger generation. The institution has already been successfully conducting several programs to lead the younger generation towards the achievement of classical music.
